WHAT TYPE OF LACE WIGS DOES THE BOSS HAIR SELL?
The Boss Hair sells 4 different types of Lace Wigs. They are listed below from the least expensive to the most expensive. Visit the "Price List" page to view pictures of the cap construction and prices.
1. Front Lace Open Cap: Is designed with 12x3 inch of lace in the front. The rest of the hair is hair weft. The parting space is limited to 3 inches. The Boss Hair will install this lace wig all the way around to allow you to wear it in a high ponytail, you just won't have any baby hair in the back but the install will be very neat. This lace wig comes in one size but can fit small, medium & large size heads.
2. Front Lace Closed Cap: Is similar to a front lace open cap except the weft hair is sewn onto a stretch material that is attached to the lace in the front area and there is a strip of lace in the lower back that allows you to make baby hair. The parting space is limited to 3 inches. The Boss Hair will install this lace wig all the way around to allow you to wear it in a high ponytail and you're able to make baby hair in the back.
3. 360 Lace Wig: Is a 360 frontal & bundles made into a wig. It is not a Full Lace, not a front lace, a 360 lace wig has weft at the top crown area. The parting space is deeper then the front lace. The Boss Hair will install this lace wig all the way around to allow you to wear it in a high ponytail and it comes with baby hair in the back.
4. Full Lace Wig: Designed with lace and undetectable stretch in the middle (crown area). The hair is tied into the lace. This lace can be parted anywhere and can be worn in a high ponytail with baby hair in the back that makes it look realistic. This is the most expensive lace wig. If deep parting space is what you want, I recommend the 360 lace wig to save some money.
IS IT TRUE THAT THE BOSS HAIR HAS FREE INSTALLS?
No! The Boss Hair no longer offers Free Installs. Starting Nov 30, 2019 all installs will cost $60. The Boss Hair marked down all of their lace wigs but they now charge for installs. Their current clients won't be affected with the change at all, they will actually still pay the same as . Their goal is to make the pricing irresistible to new clients and online shoppers.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BASIC INSTALL & A CUSTOM INSTALL?
A Basic Install is called basic because the lace wig is installed exactly how it was received. Don't think because it is called "basic" that it doesn't look good. It looks really good. If your life is busy and you want a nice affordable install, I highly recommend this install.
A Custom Install consist of prepping the lace wig before it's installed. Those who like a more natural look will ask for a custom install. This install is NOT free with a new lace wig purchase from The Boss Hair because it takes longer to install. A few of the steps consist of bleaching the knots, molding the stocking cap, plucking the hairline etc. The look is more natural but to keep this look you must get your lace wig cleaned and reinstalled weekly. WHAT SHOULD I DO AFTER MY INSTALL?
Thoroughly check the front and back to make sure it's secure before leaving and tie your lace wig down around the perimeter for the first 30 mins - 1 hour. If you start sweating remove the wrap from your perimeter because sweat plus the new install will cause the lace wig to slide prematurely. Keep extra adhesive to touch up small areas that might lift before your next install.
DOES LACE WIGS BREAK YOUR EDGES?
There is no yes or no answer to this question because it depends on the strength of your hair. If you notice that your hair looks thinner or broken after the first install we recommend that you don't reinstall it and allow your hair to grow back. It is also important to have your lace wig removed and reinstalled every 2 -3 weeks because as the adhesive weakens, the lace wig will slide back and if your hair is weak it will cause breakage around the edges. It's up to you to pay attention to your edges.
HOW DO I REMOVE THE LACE WIG?
91% Isopropyl Alochol will remove the lace wig and the adhesive from your hair. Shampoo and Condition the lace wig and your hair immediately afterwards. Visit my "HAIR CARE" page in my Mobile App for removal and Shampoo instructions
CAN I COLOR, STRAIGHTEN AND CURL MY LACE WIGS?
Yes, you can color & dye our natural color hair lace wigs. You can also straighten and curl our lace wigs. Be sure to regularly deep condition the hair because bleaching the hair can possibly damage your hair.
WHAT COLOR LACE IS BEST SUITED FOR MY SKIN TONE?
The color of lace comes in different shades. If the lace doesn't match, you can camouflage the lace by using makeup on the lace to blend with your skin. Even though the lace blends with the skin, under certain lighting the lace might show.
Most women prefer to get a lace close to their skin tone, this is the best option if you don't want to experiment with using makeup (concealer) to camouflage the lace, then it's best to select a shade that blends with your skin tone. If you plan to use makeup, then you should select a shade close to your own skin. We always order medium brown lace when ordering our lace wigs.
WHAT'S BLEACHED KNOTS?
Bleaching the knots is currently the best method to make the hair appear as if it is growing from your scalp. If your knots are not bleached you will see dark dots on the base of the lace. Dabbing foundation or concealer on the knots will help hide the knots as well.
We recommend using knot sealer to seal your knots on the underside of your wig. Just flip your wig inside out and spray a light spray of knot sealer on the knots of lace wig cap.
HOW CAN I PREVENT MY LACE WIG FROM SHEDDING?
We recommend using knot sealer to seal your knots on the underside of your wig before applying it and after every wash. Just flip your wig inside out spray a light spray of knot sealer on the knots of lace wig cap. Keep in mind all lace wigs will shed to a certain degree, The curly and deep wavy wigs will shed a little more then the straight or body wave hair. Also avoid allowing hair to tangle because tangled hair will shed while trying to detangle it.
WHICH TEXTURES ARE HARD TO MANAGE?
Deep Wave and Water Wave textures require daily maintenance. Make sure you understand how to maintain this texture before purchasing it.
WHICH LACE WIGS LAST LONGER ?
Front lace wigs last longer then full lace wigs. Eventually the knots will loosen up that causes the hair to shed. Front lace wigs are made with more weft and weft hair doesn't shed like the hair that's tied into the a lace base.
HOW LONG DOES INSTALLS LAST?
